From 1 January 2014 the Regional Relocation Grant will be extended to include Renters looking to purchase a house within a regional area to encourage regional growth.

Until recently, the payment had only been available to city homeowners leaving their homes to relocate regionally.

The State Government has also launched a new Skilled Regional Relocation Initiative, which will pay $10,000.00 (in two instalments like the Jobs Action Plan) to anyone who moves to take up an unfilled job position in a regional area but does not buy a house.
